The Panasonic DMW-LPL67 67mm Circular Polarizer Filter helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. A polarizer is able to absorb much of this polarized light and, in turn, increase the saturation of skies and foliage, cut through distant haze, and minimize reflections in glass and on water.
A circular polarizer differs from a linear polarizer in that it integrates a quarter wave plane within a linear polarizing filter. The addition of this helps to circularly polarize reflected light, which enables your camera’s autofocus and auto-exposure mechanisms to function properly.
This filter features a slim filter ring design for reducing vignetting with wide angle lenses.
- Helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface.
- Clears up haze in distant landscapes and provides more saturated, vivid colors.
- Strongest effect when used at a 90° from the sun.
- Circular polarizers are ideal for use with digital cameras and autofocus lenses where a linear polarizer will often disrupt auto exposure and focus features.
- Slim design helps to reduce vignetting when used in conjunction with wide angle lenses.
The Panasonic DMW-LND55 55mm 0.9 ND Filter is a solid neutral density filter providing an exposure reduction of about 3 stops. This 0.9 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

This sharp-cutting, nearly colorless B+W filter blocks UV radiation up to the limit of visible light. It is used in ultraviolet fluorescence photography for the prevention of unsharpness caused by the intense UV illumination (which is due to chromatic aberration in the UV range). It can also prevent the fluorescence that may occur in the cement between lens elements. Because of the usually rather colorful fluo-rescent subjects, the delicate yellow cast in color photographs is negligible. Its filter factor is 1. This filter uses our standard B+W F-Pro filter mount made of brass. Compared to the earlier standard mount introduced in 2001, the F-Pro mount has become thinner. Now it can be used with wide angle lenses, including most 24mm focal lengths on a full frame body, without vignetting. Another advantage of the F-Pro mount is it’s modified retaining ring, which is no longer threaded in from the front, but holds the filter glass in place from the back. When removing a filter or lens hood that has been screwed on too tight to the filter, the retaining ring is not at risk of loosening.
The Panasonic VW-LF46N Filter Kit for 46mm Lens contains two very viable filters for shooting under many conditions.
Haze (UV) filters are wise investments. They help protect your valuable investment from dust, moisture and scratches, which can lead to costly repairs. If desired they can be left on the lens at all times for protection.
Haze filters provide additional benefits of correction for Ultraviolet(UV) light which can register on film and videotape as a bluish cast and can obscure distant details. Ultraviolet filters allow you to correct for the UV effect to varying degrees.
Neutral Density Filter
ND filters have several uses and offer the possibility to achieve otherwise unachievable results. They enable the shooter to adjust exposure without affecting color balance. ND filters appear gray and reduce the amount of light reaching the film. Neutral density filters are available in 1, 2, 3, or 4 stops to suit individual situations.
Determining which neutral density filter yields ideal results for any given lighting situation takes knowledge, experience and a collection of such filters. Speaking generally, the 2-stop value (ND 0.6) effectively compensates average situations.
Neutral Density Filters can be used to:
- enable slow shutter speeds to be used, especially with high speed films, to record movement in subjects such as waterfalls, clouds, or cars
- decrease depth of field by allowing wider apertures to be used, which helps separate subjects from their background
- decrease the effective ISO of high speed film (above ISO 400) and allow it to be used outdoors in bright situations
- allow cine and video cameras (which have fixed shutter speeds) to film subjects such as snow, sand or other bright scenes which could cause overexposure
The lightest B+W Neutral Density Filter attenuates the light by one f-stop (log density 0.3), which can be beneficial, for instance, for the correct exposure of high-speed films when the brightness of the subject is still too high for the fastest shutter speed and the smallest aperture. It is recommended especially as a complement to B+W Neutral Density Filter 102 for fine adjustments. The filter factor is 2x.
A basic UV protective lens filter is the cheapest insurance policy photographers can buy for their valuable lenses not to mention their eyes. This protective lens filter glass provides basic bottom line protection of lens elements and your eyes from ultra violet (UV) rays plus protection of lens surfaces from dust water drops and dirt. The importance of blocking harmful UV rays cannot be stressed enough when your eyes are looking directly through an SLR camera lens.

B+w B+w 58mm Neutral Density (nd) 0.6-4x Filter 72871 : This B+W Neutral Density Filter reduces the light by two f-stops (log density 0.6), and it is the most popular ND filter in photographic work. It offers many benefits, for instance f/4 instead of f/8 for selective sharpness instead of a great depth of field, or 1/15 s instead of 1/60 s for a flowing instead of a ?frozen? waterfall. It has excellent color neutrality, costs less than the denser filters, and is recommended as part of a basic outfit. The filter factor is 4x.
This most delicate reddish-yellow conversion filter absorbs violet and some blue plus a minimal amount of green, but it passes yellow and red undiminished; the color of the light becomes ?warmer? by 15 Mired. That is mostly the optimal amount for correcting the light blue cast in the shadows under a blue sky. It also absorbs UV radiation and hence it provides better sharpness. With color films and/or developing processes that generally yield results that are too ?cool,” this filter can be kept on the lens at all times. With this filter, skin tones in particular will be rendered more naturally. Its filter factor is approximately 1:1. MRC (Multi-Resistant Coating) by B+W is not only an extraordinarily effective multiple layer coating, it is also harder than glass, so that it protects filters from scratches (for instance when cleaning the filters), and it is also water and dirt repellent, thus facilitating filter maintenance.
