The E-M1 also features in-body 5-axis image stabilization that compensates for vertical, horizontal, and rolling camera shake. IS-Auto mode can also be employed, which intelligently detect both vertical and horizontal panning and disengages image stabilization along the detected axes to provide stabilization when photographing moving subjects.
Both a high-resolution electronic viewfinder and tilting touchscreen monitor are available for live view monitoring, image playback, and menu navigation. The camera’s interactive EVF features a 2,360k-dot resolution and 1.48x magnification for comfortable eye-level viewing with the ability to preview image effects in real-time. Alternatively, the 3.0″ 1,037k-dot tilting touchscreen LCD monitor can tilt upward 80° or downward 50° to suit working from high and low angles and its touchscreen design provides an intuitive means for controlling settings and navigating through the menu system. Both of these viewing mechanisms are housed within the ruggedly-designed dust-, splash-, and freezeproof magnesium alloy body. A large grip is integrated into the construction of the E-M1 to provide a comfortable means for handling the camera and also facilitates more efficient control over a wide range of camera settings. Additionally, the incorporation of an X-sync socket, HDMI port, external microphone jack, and hot shoe also add to the E-M1’s overall functionality.
For refined off-board control and image sharing, built-in wireless connectivity is available and, when paired with the Olympus O.I. Share app for iOS and Android mobile devices, remote sharing and control over the camera is possible. QR Code Connect provides a simple, seamless way of linking mobile devices to the camera and the option of utilizing a smartphone to embed locational data into the image files for geotagging is also supported.
Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II Mirrorless Micro Four Thirds Digital Camera (Body)
With the E-M5 Mark II, Olympus has once again raised the bar on image stabilization technology, with an industry-leading five steps of compensation – that’s the most sophisticated image stabilization in the world!*. No matter how you move the camera – horizontal or vertical shift, pitch, yaw or roll – five-axis IS has you covered. And because the IS system is in the body of the camera, you’ll get blur-free results regardless of which lens you use.
From the diamond textured dual control dials, to the 6 direct function buttons, the E-M5 Mark II is a highly accomplished ergonomic photographic tool. All external controls have been arranged for making quick changes to key settings on the fly second nature. Sealed for protection against moisture and dust, the E-M5 Mark II’s durable all metal construction body supports a full array of similarly “proofed” accessories, including the bundled FL-LM3 swivel bounce flash and an optional powered battery grip as well as eight* M.Zuiko Digital weather-sealed lenses. The camera’s shape and materials were specifically chosen to keep the body slim but easy to hold and shoot with all day.
The high-speed 16 Megapixel Live MOS sensor/TruePic VII™ image processor combo that has won accolades from professional publications and websites is at the heart of the E-M5 Mark II’s imaging performance. Olympus PEN E-P3 with 17mm Lens (black)
Blending the classic feel of an all metal body with the highly popular Micro Four Thirds trend in photography, Olympus presents their E-P3 PEN Digital Camera. This version of the E-P3 includes a 17mm lens, as well, to get you out shooting from day one. Highly desired for many reasons, Micro Four Thirds cameras provide an easily transportable body (this one with the look and feel that only a metal body can bring to hand) along with numerous lens options and the features and functions of a full-sized DSLR camera.
The E-P3 has a 12.3Mp Live MOS Sensor and the TruePic VI Image Processor which work together to produce stunningly detailed images at fast speeds. In addition, the camera also has Olympus’ FAST AF Tracking System. FAST AF provides 35 focus points along with Tracking AF for fast and accurate focusing on each shot. Other performance considerations include the 12,800 ISO capabilities, an AF Illuminator, and a built-in flash, not to mention blazing shutter speeds with a response time of less than 60 milliseconds.
Still images can be taken using RAW, JPEG, or a combination of the two. And, 3D still images can even be captured as well in the MPO format. Of course, more than a still camera, the E-P3 also captures HD video. You can take up to 29 minutes of 1080/60i video in either AVCHD or AVI formats. No matter, video or still, all files can be stored to external flash memory, including SD, SDHC, SDXC, and UHS-1 cards. Olympus recommends Eye-Fi Class 6 cards for video recording.
The E-P3 has a bountiful set of on-camera controls and menu options, all of which are displayed on the beautiful 3.0″ touch screen OLED display. As is one of the hallmarks of the Micro Four Thirds genre, small in size though it may be, the E-P3 is not short on options. Aside from a bevy of metering and exposures modes, the camera also hosts numerous picture modes, art filters, Live Guides, and white balance modes, among others. Your pictures will be truly your own, utilizing the full range of choices presented by the E-P3; you can even choose to shoot in panorama mode. Other highlights worth mentioning include 3 modes of image stabilization, noise reduction, and basic in-camera image editing.
Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 75mm f/1.8 Lens
The M.Zuiko Digital ED 75mm f/1.8 Lens from Olympus is a beautiful high-quality medium length telephoto lens (equivalent to 150mm in 35mm or full-frame format) for Micro Four Thirds format cameras. The large f/1.8 maximum aperture makes it a natural for shallow depth of field focusing and low-light situations. Its 9-blade diaphragm provides pleasing bokeh.
This is a small (2.7 x 2.5″) lens that weighs only 10.7 oz, despite having 10 elements in 9 groups. The fast, quiet MSC (Movie & Still Compatible) autofocus mechanism makes this a great choice for shooting video as well as stills. The precision-touch metallic focus ring delivers firm, easy manual focusing, as well. There are three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) elements that correct aberrations to a large degree, and Olympus’s ZERO (ZUIKO Extra-low Reflection Optical Coating) lens coatings reduce reflectance to as little as half that of conventional coatings by minimizing ghosting and flare that would otherwise compromise the 75mm f/1.8.

Olympus OM-D E-M5 Body Only (Black)
The Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mirrorless Micro Four Thirds Digital Camera sports the popular mirrorless technology that allows for a light and compact body. More than that, however, the OM-D E-M5 is an outstanding camera that provides you with tools like an electronic eye-level viewfinder, a 120 fps refresh rate, a tilting 3.0″ OLED touchscreen monitor, 16Mp of resolution, and – of course – an ever-expanding array of compatible lens options. All these factors boil down to a camera that’s easier to transport than the average DSLR, yet puts multiple creative choices, and numerous other high-end features and functions, at your disposal.
Taking the features of the OM-D E-M5 one at a time, let’s begin with the camera’s high image quality. Making such stunning 16Mp stills and 1920 x 1080 HD video possible would be the 16Mp Live MOS image sensor and the TruePic VI image processor. The heart of the camera, these two work together with an array of M.ZUIKO DIGITAL lenses for impressive images and movies.
Other features worth mentioning here include Olympus’ AF system, which enables fast, accurate images in a variety of situations. Additionally, 9.2 fps high-speed sequential shooting goes a step further to ensure that fast moving subjects are easily captured. The 5-axis, sensor-shift image stabilization system also comes into play here, compensating for vertical, horizontal, and rotational camera shake, which conventional 2-axis systems of the past haven’t been able to tame. This stabilization is built-in the camera body, and ensures effective stabilization with all lenses.
The high-res, 1.44 million dot LCD has 100% field-of-view coverage and a 1.15x maximum magnification. The EVF also allows for enlarging the focus point for seeing the effect of many different features right in the viewfinder. In addition to this impressive EVF, the camera also has a 3.0″ tilting OLED touchscreen monitor, making it the first Olympus camera to have such capabilities. The touchscreen monitor allows for fast menu navigation, and brilliant composition and review of scenes.
The OM-D E-M5 is also a tough camera, featuring a dust-proof and splash-proof design. As Olympus states, “multiple ring-shaped seals protect the camera from sand, dust, rain, and water spray”. That means there’s no need to fear the elements and as a result, miss the shot. What’s more the OM-D E-M5 extends this feature to the bundled flash unit, the optional grip, the power battery holder, and the optional M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 12-50mm f/3.5-6.3 EZ lens.

The combination of these two technologies enables a high sensitivity range from ISO 100-25600 and continuous shooting up to 8 fps. The sensor also lends itself to an enhanced FAST autofocus system that utilizes a contrast-detection focusing method to efficiently acquire focus with selectable focus areas for even greater precision. Also benefitting image sharpness is in-body 3-axis image stabilization that compensates for angular shifts and rolling camera shake.
Both a high-resolution electronic viewfinder and tilting touchscreen monitor are available for live view monitoring, image playback, and menu navigation. The EVF features a 1,440k-dot resolution and 1.15x magnification for comfortable eye-level viewing with the ability to preview image effects in real-time. Alternatively, the 3.0″ 1,037k-dot tilting touchscreen LCD monitor can tilt upward 80° or downward 50° to suit working from high and low angles and its touchscreen design provides an intuitive means for controlling settings and navigating through the menu system. For refined off-board control and image sharing, built-in wireless connectivity is available and, when paired with the Olympus Image Share app for iOS and Android mobile devices, remote sharing and control over the camera is possible.

It features quiet autofocus and zooming operation to benefit recording movies and also incorporates three aspherical elements into its design to reduce aberrations and produce notable image sharpness and quality.
16.1MP Live MOS Sensor and TruePic VII Image Processor
The 16.1 megapixel Live MOS sensor and TruePic VII image processor, with Fine Detail Processing II, work in concert to enable high-resolution still imagery, full HD video recording, and notable low-light quality and sensitivity to ISO 25600. The combination of these two technologies also helps to promote high-speed performance throughout the camera system, including a top shutter speed of 1/4000 sec. with a mechanical shutter, a continuous shooting rate up to 8 fps with single-shot AF, and continuous 3.5 fps shooting with continuous autofocus.
Additionally, full HD 1080p movie recording is supported at 30 fps with stereo sound in either the MOV or AVI format. Simultaneous shooting, up to 5 fps, is also possible in P/A/S/M modes at 5.8MP resolution, without interrupting the movie recording.
In-Camera 3-Axis Image Stabilization
In-body VCM (Voice Coil Motor) image stabilization helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake with any lens in use and compensates for camera movements that become especially noticeable when working with telephoto shots, macro imagery, and long exposures. Furthermore, this unique image stabilization system works across three axes, versus the conventional two axes, and compensates for vertical and horizontal shifts (yaw and pitch) as well as camera shake along the optical axis (roll). This range of detected movements serves to benefit traditional still image shooting as well as movie recording and working with moving subjects more effectively.
Electronic Viewfinder and 3.0″ Tilting Touchscreen
For eye-level viewing, a bright 1,440k-dot electronic viewfinder is integrated into the design and features an automatic eye-detect function, 0.007 sec. display lag time, and 1.15x magnification. This finder enables realistic, high resolution viewing in a comfortable position that is especially beneficial when working in bright conditions. The adaptive brightness settings also enable easier viewing in different lighting conditions, with the brightness being set according to surrounding conditions to better simulate the use of an optical viewfinder.
In addition to the viewfinder, a large 3.0″ 1,037k-dot tilting touchscreen LCD monitor is also available for live view monitoring, image playback, and menu navigation. The monitor’s design can tilt 80° upward and 50° downward, making it well-suited to use from both high and low angles. The intuitive touchscreen control offers a range of additional functionality, too, including the ability to touch to release the shutter, select the focusing point, magnify the image, apply filter effects, and navigate through images and settings.
FAST Autofocus System
Benefitting the quickened shooting performance of the E-M10, a contrast-detection focusing method employs 81 AF areas to quickly and accurately acquire focus. Aptly named, FAST (Frequency Acceleration Sensor Technology) is able to home in on subjects using single-shot or continuous focusing methods, as well as AF tracking to benefit working with moving subjects. In addition to standard Small Target and Group Target focusing areas, Super Spot AF can also be used to acquire focus in a smaller, more refined area for critical accuracy.
When working with manual focus, focus peaking and manual focus assist functions are available to simplify attaining precise sharpness, which is especially useful when using selective focus or shallow depth of field techniques.
Built-In Wireless Connectivity
By using the Olympus Image Share app, wireless control of the E-M10 is possible through using linked iOS and Android mobile devices. The mobile device can be used to preview compositions, choose a specific AF point, and release the shutter via the intuitive app interface. Linking of mobile devices to the camera is possible through an intuitive QR Code Connect system, which displays a unique QR code on the camera’s monitor which can then be recognized by a mobile device for instant linking.
M.Zuiko Digital 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 II R Lens
Included with the E-M10 is the versatile M.Zuiko Digital 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 II R zoom lens, which provides a 35mm-equivalent focal length range of 28-84mm. The lens is designated as MSC (Movie & Still Compatible), making it ideal for video recording due to its quick and near-silent focusing performance.
Olympus Pen E-P2 with 17mm Lens (silver)
The Olympus Pen E-P2 with 17mm Lens (silver) is essentially a 4/3-format DSLR minus the prism and mirror housing (hence the smaller body size); images can be composed and edited using the E-P2’s 3″ HyperCrystal LCD, which features anti-reflective coatings on its surface to enable Live viewing of 100% of the image area under the brightest of lighting conditions. When shooting in manual focus, a 5x magnification of the center of the frame pops up as a focusing aid each time you adjust the focusing ring (This magnification can be manually increased up to 10x.). The E-P2 features a port for the optional VF-2 electronic viewfinder or the optional EMA-1 external microphone.
Clad in ergonomically-designed stainless-steel body panels, the Olympus E-P2 takes many design queues from the Olympus Pen F, a popular half-frame SLR that made its initial debut in 1959. But unlike the original Pen F, the E-P2 has the ability to produce vividly-detailed still photographs and HD video with stereo sound, both of which can be enhanced post-capture using the E-P2’s advanced in-camera retouching and audio dubbing tools.
The E-P2 includes a picture mode called iEnhance, which analyzes colors and brightness. The new mode mimics what the naked eye sees. For example, a beautiful sunset looks awesome in person and generally seems to fade when captured in an image. With iEnhance, the warm yellow and orange colors are heightened to be brilliant and closer to the actual scene. The result is exceptionally clear imaging with a dramatically lifelike color. iEnhance can be used in any shooting mode – from program to manual – and automatically engages when in iAuto. This along with the 8 art filters allows you to take perfect, creative images.
Other features found on the Olympus E-P2 include i-Auto mode, dust reduction technology, in-camera image stabilization, which enables low-light hand-held shooting with all 4/3-system lenses, advanced shooting modes, and creative post-capture editing tools.
This E-P2 comes with a 17mm f/2.8 M.Zuiko Digital ‘pancake’ lens, which with an angle-of-view of approximately 62° (34mm equivalent) and a profile of less than an inch, makes for an ideal travel / daytripping camera/lens combination.

Adding to the dream, recording HD movies (720p) with the E-PL1 is simple thanks to an easy-to-reach record button on the back of the camera body. You can toggle back and forth between capturing stills and video which opens endless shooting possibilities, for example you can shoot a portrait of a child and switch to video to capture the moment when he or she is playing with the dog that interrupted your shooting session.
This camera has 19 automatic scene-select modes which adjust camera settings according to the subject you are photographing plus 6 in-camera Art Filters (Pop Art, Soft Focus, Grainy Film, Pin Hole, Diorama and the new Gentle Sepia filter). Olympus SP-820UZ Digital Camera (silver)
The SP-820UZ iHS Digital Camera from Olympus features an incredibly powerful 40x optical zoom lens which has a 35mm equivalency of 22.4-896mm. With a lens like this, you’ll need no other. From true wide angle all the way to ultra-telephoto, this lens will shoot a wide expansive landscape then zoom in to get a clear, full-frame shot of a subject in the distance. It’s hard to understate the power of an 896mm reach, it will bring far away subjects breathtakingly close and the wide angle lengths are open enough to shoot all your friends gathered around the dinner table or the entirety of a beautiful interior. Of course, these focal lengths won’t mean much if the quality of the images aren’t good.
Fortunately, the Olympus SP-820UZ has that covered thanks to its 14MP CMOS Sensor and TruePic V Image Processor. Together, Olympus terms this their iHS technology or Intelligent High Speed and High Sensitivity. It’s a very accurate term because the image quality and camera performance of the SP-820UZ is well above standards. And thanks to its dual image stabilization system, photos taken with its extremely long lens and shots taken in low light will come out blur-free and with sharp details.
The SP-820UZ also houses Full HD video for recording all the important moments that just won’t fit into one image. Quality of the video image is also improved when shooting at long focal lengths due to Multi Motion Movie IS, an image stabilization system specifically designed for HD Video. A dedicated one-touch button starts your video recording and for viewing your videos immediately, an HDMI output is included in the camera body. Simply connect the cable and push play to screen your films in crystal clear HD.
This “bridge” camera offers the style and look of a DSLR but the ease and functionality of a compact point and shoot and brings to the table some of the best qualities of both. For example, like a DSLR, the SP-820UZ has high-speed sequential shooting so you’ll never miss an action shot or the perfect unposed smile. But, like a compact camera it is easy to use and features an iAuto mode which will select all the camera’s settings based on the image it reads and let you simply compose your image and shoot. The iHS technology also brings with it two helpful functions. HDR Backlight Adjustment creates well balanced shots of high contrast scenes by shooting multiple takes of the same image with different exposure levels and combining them into one shot in which both shadows and highlights are evenly exposed. Hand-Held Starlight performs a similar function with night shots and leaves you with images that are crisp, detailed and without light streaks or blurs.
The SP-820UZ also has features like Smart Panorama and Magic Art Filters. Smart Panorama captures 360º images in one frame by simply panning the camera across the scene and Magic Filters allow you to add effects, like Fish-eye, Miniature and Pin Hole to your photos.
With its powerful lens that will cover all your shooting needs and its superior image quality, this easy-to-hold, easy-to-use Olympus camera is an affordable gem to keep with you for when life’s memories are being made.
